Young rural acholi boy playing acholi flute song entitled atim ni nining
A young rural Acholi Boy named Kidega Kenneth playing the flute to a traditional Acholi song entitled Atim Ni Nining (What am I to do?)
Such songs entitled "What am I to do" are sung during times of uncertainity or after an occurence for which the most obvious course of action is uncertain.
Playing of the flute to Acholi music is not an easy task, as Acholi music is extremely agile in variance of tempo. One must play the staccato and legato at a fast temo to match the flute's chromatic and diatonic scales, leaps, tremolos and trills to the acholi beat and rythms.
