The American National who was found dead at his hotel room, in Nwoya district over the weekend died of heart failure, police has said.

Montie Guy Watson, 61, who was a resident of Texas, United States of America, was found dead at Bwana Tembo Safari Camp in Got Apwoyo Sub-county, in Nwoya district on February 17.

The postmortem results were released by General Kale Kayihura, the Inspector General of Police, IGP, to journalists in Kampala on Tuesday.

Information contained in a dossier seen by the Northern Era and signed by Gen Kayihura, indicates the deceased visited Murchison Fall National Park on February 13, together with three other American nationals and a tour guide identified as Augustine Chaila.

The reports indicate that the three American nationals left for Kidepo National Park on February 15, leaving the deceased at Bwana Tembo Safari camp with Chaila.

However on the February 17, when the deceased and Chaila were to travel to Kampala, he [Montie] was found dead.

The Northern Era also understands that two days after the death of Montie, another German Tourist identified as Rita Charlotte also died under unclear circumstances from Murchison Falls National Park.

The deceased had reportedly travelled to tour water falls in the company of seven others who booked for accommodation at Pakuba Safari Lodge.

The police Chief while addressing journalists in Kampala confirmed the death of Rita, but didn’t divulge more details on what caused her death since the body was still at Mulago hospital’s Morgue.

Preliminary police reports however indicate that Rita collapsed while on a "nature walk" at the bottom of the falls.

The information we have is that on February 19, at about 4pm, she was put in a boat to the falls, and then was on “Nature walk” at the bottom of the falls when she collapsed. She was then driven from Para Lodge to Packwach Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 11pm,” read parts of the preliminary reports.

The police also yesterday disclosed that Alex Nordlarndar Sebastien Andreas, a Swedish national and Terasvouri Tuomas Juha Petteri, a Finish entrepreneur who were found dead in separate hotels in Kampala died of Hypoxia following mixed drug intoxication.

So far four foreign nationals have died in Uganda between February 5 and 19 this year.
